Benkerin is a small kennel in Northern
Ireland that is striving for perfection
in both Russian Black Terriers & Newfoundlands.
I took an interest in Newfoundlands and in 1998 I bought my first Newfie a black male called Bentley (Tremarcol Early Riser At Benkerin)who took over my life and heart, my love for the breed and numbers have just grown since. Indie(Kermode Bear At Benkerin) arrived next, both thanks to Margaret Collins (Tremarcol)and she had her first litter in 2004. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Margaret for guiding me and parting with a lot of her vast knowledge and experience of the breed.
My interest in Russian Black Terriers was sparked by my first Russian, Kiera who was given to me as her owner could no longer keep her. After a lot of TLC Kiera entered the show ring and enlightened the Irish show scene by becoming the first ever IR & INT CH. Kiera filled my life with so much love but very sadly left me in 2006 after a short illness. She will always be in my heart.
I show both at home and in the UK and have been very successful with both breeds. All my dogs are health tested.
